First Race Of The Season - Belling Bell Race

With light winds forecast, and little evidence of any wind on the lake, the first race of the season was postponed for a little while to wait for a bit more wind. After setting the course, our race office for the day confirmed the start times, and sailors proceeded to the start line

The race started well albeit slowly, as participants headed through the start line up to Bouy 7, following the committee boat for those new to the layout.

Around Bouy 7 the wind dropped off significantly bringing racers to a snails pace. Nevertheless the race continued, with a shortened course, finishing at Bouy 2 after a slow downwind leg, with Rhomar, Carte Blanche and Little B crossing the line.

After a coffee and catch up at the Belling, everyone sailed back in typically much better wind!
